Shine, Herman (Mendel Scheingesicht)
Born in Berlin in 1922, son of Polish Jews, avoided deportation to Poland as an alien in 1939, arrested and taken to the Sachsenhausen concentration camp, deportation to the Buna/Monowitz concentration camp in 1942, Gleiwitz subcamp, escape from Buna/Monowitz with Max Drimmer, emigration to the United States after liberation, now lives in California.
